【摘要】:Theadvantagesofthedepth-integratingsamplersareasfollows:4.1.1Thesamplersprovidetheonlymeansbywhicharepresentativesampleofphytoplanktoncanbeobtainedfromastream.4.1.2Thevarietyofsamplerdesignsresultintheavailabilityofasamplerthatcanbeusedinvirtuallyallvelocitiesofflow.4.1.3Samplesofknownvolumescanbeobtained.4.1.4Aquantitativesampleisobtained.Nanno-andultraplanktonarenotlostfromthesamplingdevice.4.1.5Someofthesamplerscanbeusedinwaterupto55mdeep.4.1.6Manyofthesamplersarelight-weightandcanbeusedwithoutauxiliaryequipment.Thedisadvantagesofthedepth-integratingsamplersareasfollows:4.2.1Thesamplerscanbeusedonlyinflowingstreamshavingavelocitygreaterthan1.5ft3/s.4.2.2Someofthesamplersareheavyandrequiretheuseofauxiliaryequipment,suchasacranewithhoist.4.2.3Thecollectionofsamplescanbeverytime-consuming.Thereareseveralspecialconsiderationsthatshallbeobservedwhenusingdepth-integratingsamplers.Theyareasfollows:4.3.1Thenozzleofthesamplershouldbeinspectedperiodicallyforchips,cracks,orothersignsofdamageandreplacedasnecessary.4.3.2Thesamplefromeachverticalprofilemustbecombinedwithothersimilarsamplesinacommoncontainer.Ifthecombinedsampleissubsequentlysubdivided,itmustbethoroughlymixedbeforedoingso.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforobtainingquantitativesamplesofaphytoplanktoncommunitybyuseofdepth-integratingsampler.Themethodissuitableforuseinflowingwaters.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
