【摘要】:1.1Thesepracticesdescribemethodsofpackaging/packingaluminumandmagnesiumproducts,inpreparationforstorageorshipment,bothforeignanddomestic.Assumingproperandnormalhandlingintransit,thesepracticesaredesignedtodelivertheproductstotheirdestinationingoodcondition.ForDoDredistribution,seeSupplementaryRequirements.1.2Aluminumandmagnesiumproductsmustbepreservedandpackedsoastobeadequatelyprotectedfrompossibledamageduringshipmentandstorage.Majordamagetypesare:1.2.1Mechanical,includingbending,crushing,denting,scratching,orgougingduringhandlingandstorage;andabrasionsresultingfromvibrationduringtransportofthematerial.1.2.2Corrosion,orwaterstain,resultingfromexposureofpackedmaterialtowater,eitherexternallyapplied,orascondensatecausedbytemperaturevariationsinahumidatmosphere.Note18212;AcompletemetriccompaniontoPracticesB660isbeingdeveloped-PracticesB660M;therefore,nometricequivalentsarepresentedinthesepractices.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
