【摘要】:Animportantfactoraffectingtheperformanceofmembraneroofingsystemsistheirabilitytoresistdynamicpunctureloads.Thistestmethodprovidesameanstoassessdynamicpunctureresistance.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtocomparethedynamicpunctureresistanceofasingletypeofmembraneasafunctionofavarietyofinsulationsubstratesor,conversely,tocomparetheresistanceofanumberofmembranespecimenssetonasingletypeofinsulation.Theeffectoftemperatureonpunctureresistancecanbestudiedbyconductingthetestundercontrolledconditionsusingsuchequipmentasanenvironmentalchamber,oven,orfreezer.Thetestmethodcanbeusefulindevelopingperformancecriteriaformembraneroofingsystems.Thetestmethodcanbeusefulindevelopingclassificationsofdynamicpunctureresistanceofmembraneroofingsystems.Whileitisconsideredthattheresultsobtainedbythislaboratorytestcanaffordameasureofthedynamicpunctureresistanceofmembraneroofingsystemsinthefield,(providedthatserviceloadsandtemperatureconditionsareknown)nodirectcorrelationhasyetbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthemaximumdynamicpunctureloadthatroofingmembranesamplescanwithstand,withoutallowingthepassageofwater,whensubjectedtoimpactfromarigidobjecthavingasharpedge.1.2Thislaboratorytestcanbeconductedatanydesiredtemperatureusingmembranesamplesmanufacturedinafactoryorpreparedinalaboratory.1.3Roofmembranespecimenstowhichthetestmethodisapplicableincludebituminousbuilt-up,polymer-modifiedbitumens,vulcanizedrubbers,non-vulcanizedpolymeric,andthermoplasticmaterials.1.4Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoaggregate-surfacedmembranespecimens;however,itisapplicabletospecimenshavingfactory-appliedgranules.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
