【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthelinearthermalexpansionofrigidsolidmaterialsusingpush-roddilatometers.Thismethodisapplicableoveranypracticaltemperaturerangewhereadevicecanbeconstructedtosatisfytheperformancerequirementssetforthinthisstandard.Note1Initially,thismethodwasdevelopedforvitreoussilicadilatometersoperatingoveratemperaturerangeof-180to900176;C.Theconceptsandprincipleshavebeenamplydocumentedintheliteraturetobeequallyapplicableforoperatingathighertemperatures.Theprecisionandbiasofthesesystemsisbelievedtobeofthesameorderasthatforsilicasystemsupto900176;C.However,theirprecisionandbiashavenotyetbeenestablishedovertherelevanttotalrangeoftemperatureduetothelackofwell-characterizedreferencematerialsandtheneedforinterlaboratorycomparisons.1.2Forthispurpose,arigidsolidisdefinedasamaterialthat,attesttemperatureandunderthestressesimposedbyinstrumentation,hasanegligiblecreeporelasticstrainrate,orboth,thusinsignificantlyaffectingtheprecisionofthermal-lengthchangemeasurements.Thisincludes,asexamples,metals,ceramics,refractories,glasses,rocksandminerals,graphites,plastics,cements,curedmortars,woods,andavarietyofcomposites.1.3Theprecisionofthiscomparativetestmethodishigherthanthatofotherpush-roddilatometrytechniques(forexample,TestMethodD696)andthermomechanicalanalysis(forexample,TestMethodE831)butissignificantlylowerthanthatofabsolutemethodssuchasinterferometry(forexample,TestMethodE289).Itisgenerallyapplicabletomaterialshavingabsolutelinearexpansioncoefficientsexceeding0.5m/(mC)fora1000176;Crange,andunderspecialcircumstancescanbeusedforlowerexpansionmaterialswhenspecialprecautionsareusedtoensurethattheproducedexpansionofthespecimenfallswithinthecapabilitiesofthemeasuringsystem.Insuchcases,asufficientlylongspecimenwasfoundtomeetthespecification.1.4Computer-orelectronic-basedinstrumentation,techniques,anddataanalysissystemsmaybeusedinconjunctionwiththistestmethod,aslongasitisestablishedthatsuchasystemstrictlyadherestotheprinciplesandcomputationalschemessetforthinthismethod.Usersofthetestmethodareexpresslyadvisedthatallsuchinstrumentsortechniquesmaynotbeequivalentandmayomitordeviatefromthemethodologydescribedhereunder.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertodeterminethenecessaryequivalencypriortouse.1.5SIunitsarethestandard.1.6ThereisnoISOmethodequivalenttothisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
